The best way to search for specific classes is by key word(s) of title or presenter. Dates have not been consistently formatted. This search covers only the ALL web site.
The ALL Story began when a group of Oregon State University (OSU) faculty and staff met in the summer of 2001 to create an OSU Retirement Association (OSURA). One of the proposed objectives was that it should promote ongoing intellectual growth for retirees. Then, a decision was made that the objective of intellectual stimulation should be spun off as a separate organization from OSURA and made available to all mature adults in the community. The two organizations would be complementary but autonomous. Thus was the OSU Academy for Lifelong learning (ALL) born, as shown in the original Document creating ALL.
First at a Retreat in September 2009, and then at a special ALL meeting on January 30, 2010, four of the original Founders gave a presentation on how ALL started and mentioned its subsequent development. The latter session was recorded and made into a movie, Creation of ALL (video) . Clicking on this link will play the movie online; but if you do not have fast internet access, you may prefer to read Creation of ALL (text).
The movie includes some of the documents linked on the left, but if you prefer to click on them separately, you can read them directly.
The movie also includes a short section, made at the University of Oklahoma, in which Les Risser describes her early association with ALL when her husband Paul Risser was President of OSU.
The movie does not include the larger documents and details of ALL excursions.
